Post Poldark

Things are moving along, I have cleared all 1500 metres of paths have been cleared ready for the digger. The plan being to shallow dig and fill with bark chippings.

The straw bale blind at the Northern end of the reserve has been completed so I now have a cosy little den to hide from the good lady wife!!

I have also started to clear the meadow areas under the powerlines that run across the site. This is being done ‘old school’ with a scythe and I’m knackered, it’s hard work.

I’ve also just completed 10 days of small mammal surveying, between May and September)results to be posted when I get organised.

Now its a bit of bird ringing this coming week, no rest for the wicked!

Big thank you to Aln Elliott at Corrillion Construction Civil Engineering (the guys building the Morpeth  Northern bypass). They have donated several loads of materials which will be invaluable to the reserve, it was much appreciated.
