Leaving the site yesterday I encountered a very cute but deadly visitor. It was doing a very thorough search of the log piles obviously looking for its evening meal. A weasel on patrol.

Do weasels, like stoats, change their coat in winter? A couple of stoats in ermine have been reported in Northumberland over the last week or so.

Hi Pauline, Our weasels do not change their coat, although there are species of weasels that do, they are from latitudes further North. One of my neighbours was telling me that they had seen a white stoat, at Park House Farm, many years ago!
