Pond Arosa

Thanks to a real excavator driver and a little help from my friends we now have Pond 1 up and running. We only got really going on Sunday so I am pleasantly surprised that we have a nice little pond by Tuesday.

Dynamic duo to the rescue

Steve and Matty made a difference today down on the reserve. We put in field drainage at the rear of the classroom, did a little landscaping, and made great strides with the smaller pond. Saved me a lot of hand digging, so useful to have a pro on the digger, well done Steve.

Young apprentices

We have had two of our Princes Trust youngsters working on the reserve for the last two weeks as work experience. They have been reed cutting, painting, building steps, unloading paving stones and helping build our artificial badger set.

IMMI visit

I visited IMMI (local firm) to give a presentation to the workforce about the nature reserve. They have a community program that helps local good causes with employees give paid time off to help. I am hopeful that they will be able to provide some help. Fingers crossed!

Classroom arrives

Our portacabin classroom was craned in yesterday, very exciting. It’s not fully together yet but it’s here which is the main thing.

Thanks to John Bell and Anthony Toole for helping with the move, and also Ross Blackburn and his crew.
